From Garden Dreams to Floral Reality
Three years ago, what started as weekend flower arranging in my kitchen has grown into Azerbaijan's most trusted floristry education studio. Here's how we got here — and where we're heading next.
The Kitchen Table Beginning
I was working as a graphic designer, but every weekend found me at the flower market in Baku's old town. My apartment gradually turned into an unofficial flower studio — stems soaking in every available container, petals scattered across my dining table, and friends constantly asking if I could teach them "just the basics."
The turning point came when my neighbor Leyla knocked on my door at 7 AM, desperate to learn how to arrange flowers for her daughter's graduation party that afternoon. We spent four hours together, and she left with skills that amazed her entire family.
Growing Through Real Challenges
By autumn 2022, I was teaching small groups in my living room every weekend. The demand surprised me, but so did the challenges. Finding reliable flower suppliers who understood educational needs took months. I learned that teaching floristry isn't just about technique — it's about building confidence in people who often feel intimidated by something that looks so effortless.
The real breakthrough happened in 2023 when I realized students needed different approaches. Some wanted precise European techniques, others preferred organic, garden-style arrangements. We developed our flexible curriculum based on actual student feedback, not textbook theories.
Building Something Lasting
This year, we're expanding thoughtfully. Our new studio space opens in September 2025, designed specifically for hands-on learning with proper lighting and workspace for every student. We're also launching specialized programs — seasonal design workshops, wedding floristry intensives, and botanical illustration courses that complement floral arrangement skills.
What excites me most is our mentorship program starting in early 2026, where experienced students can shadow local florists and event designers. It's about creating genuine pathways into the industry, not just teaching techniques.

Creative Director & Lead Instructor
My background in graphic design actually shapes how I teach floristry — I see arrangements as compositions with color, texture, and movement. Before Nelvantex, I spent five years designing marketing materials, which taught me the importance of clear communication and attention to detail.
What drives me is watching someone discover they can create beauty with their hands. Last month, a student named Rashad told me he'd never touched flowers before our class, but now tends a small garden and arranges weekly bouquets for his family. Those moments remind me why this work matters.

What We're Building Together
Our vision goes beyond teaching flower arranging. We're creating a community where creativity flourishes alongside practical skills. By 2026, we want Nelvantex graduates to be recognized not just for their technical abilities, but for their unique artistic perspectives and professional reliability.
The floristry industry in Azerbaijan is evolving, and we're preparing our students to be part of that growth — whether they're starting their own businesses, joining established florists, or simply bringing more beauty into their personal lives.
